A Theater Intensive in Collective Creation
Step into the power of the ensemble. In this dynamic, immersive intensive led by acclaimed theater artist Dan Griffiths, participants will explore the visceral, embodied practice of moving, listening, and creating as one.
Drawing from the ancient engine of theater—the interplay between chorus, hero, and muses—we will investigate how story emerges through collective breath, image, and impulse. What does it mean to hold the space as the many, while uplifting the one? To channel inspiration as both vessel and voice? Through this mythic framework, we will train the ensemble to function as a living organism: responsive, intuitive, and alive to rhythm, design, and each other.
Through structured improvisation, physical storytelling, and deep attention to musicality, tempo, line, and architecture, we’ll learn to share our center—to partner not only with fellow performers, but with props, structures, and the unseen forces that shape story.
This is a space for conjuring. For ensemble-driven magic. For surrendering individual ego in favor of collaborative impulse. Whether you’re a performer, director, or deviser, this intensive will challenge and refine your ability to generate dynamic, image-rich theater rooted in presence, myth, and shared vision.
Come ready to move. Come ready to play. Come ready to invoke the muses and awaken the hero’s path through the voice of the chorus.
